Emma Hough is originally from Pittsburgh, but she has been happily calling the DC area home since she began her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University. During her time at Georgetown, Emma majored in Political Economy and minored in Arabic and Philosophy. When she wasn't busy with her classes, Emma spent her time working on student theater productions and developing her love of teaching as a part-time instructor for CapEd. After graduating, Emma joined the CapEd team as a full-time program director, and has really enjoyed the opportunity to work with students and families in this new capacity. In her free time, Emma enjoys playing tennis and marathoning the newest TV shows with her roommates.
Sammy is a proud alum of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where she earned two undergraduate degrees, in Dance and Psychology, as well as her Honors College certificate. When she wasn’t dancing, trying to get children to fathom “modern dance,” socializing cats at BARCS, or fussing incessantly with Garageband, Sammy taught CapEd classes and absolutely loved them! She is one of the few CapEd staff members to have held virtually every role in the organization—from high school student to staff assistant, teacher, and full-time Site Director. Sammy is also known for her impeccable penmanship and for being able to do the most push-ups in a row in the office.
